Two strongest existing skills

Communication: I developed communication skills throughout my academic journey and when working as a manager at Moonlight Restaurant.

Team working: I am a social person therefore developed team working as a student and in different organisation I have worked with.

Two developing skills

Technology: in the current era, technology is at the core of success in all organisations. Therefore, developing my technological skills will be an added value.

Problem solving: conflicts are all over and common in everyday life. Therefore, problem solving skills will enable me solve a range of problems in personal life and in my profession

Motivation

Seeing others at peace motivates me. I desire to see everyone happy and doing well in life. I would like to be able to empower others to solve their problems or even support them find their peace. I like a society in which everyone is responsible for their actions. I like a society in which everyone understands how their behaviour affects others and therefore avoid actions that would disturb peace in the society.

Personality

Of the five factors that determine personality traits, I fall into extraversion and agreeableness. I consider myself an extravert as I am talkative, assertive, and motivated to engage in social contact. I also consider myself agreeable as I am sympathetic, kind, and responsive to the needs of others. Therefore, I would fit in an environment where social interactions and interpersonal relationships are crucial to success.

Skills I have gained from the course

I gave gained skills in research methods. In gathering information, I have learnt how to use primary and secondary sources. When using secondary sources, I have gained the skills to evaluate sources so that I choose the most relevant in meeting the intended aims. I have learnt to consider the authority, currency, content, accuracy, and audience when evaluating sources. I have also learnt to observe ethical considerations when conducting social research. Additionally, I have gained data collection skills for research purposes.

What I want from my career, personal needs, and how realistic they are.

I want a career through which I can further develop my social and interpersonal skills. Additionally, I want a lucrative career. I would like to work within Bradford so I can spend time with my family. I would like to work for not more than 40 hours per week so I can have time for other hobbies and interests. Although the career is well paying, I might have to work for more than 40 hours in a week to meet the demands in the job. The career offers more opportunities for developing social and interpersonal skills.

What type of career would interest me

Volunteering in any victim support organisation would help me gain the transferrable skills I need as a social worker. Therapeutic fostering or children home opportunities would also be essential for developing my transferable skills. I also intend to continue volunteering at Refugee Action as I find it essential in building my transferrable skills that I will need in future as a social worker.
