This study considers and measures the skills I learned from the exercise of "take twenty - five" by teamwork. The study also explains and analyses certain skills that are the need for confidence in teamwork, interaction and responsibilities. How the skills of inter personal skill, creative decision making and emotional intelligence skill were developed for team working practice through evidence and assessment. The “take twenty - five” exercise was a teamwork undertaking that became an amount of twenty - five pounds that every team was given from the university, and moreover we needed to make investments those money nicely in unique approaches in order to gather cash for charity in Children Foundation which is specialized for kids with special needs. As result, we needed to make a choice what our team is going to spend the ones money and make that challenge works so one can attain the project and additionally helping that foundation. (Clegg, 2017) Additionally, my team and I we are decided to play a game in our university place at St. Peters campus that the game was called rock paper and scissors for one pound. If they win as they were taking our prices that we had with us. The prices were chocolates, sweets, soft drinks, water and crisp. This action takes place also to Murray Library and Gateway when the University gave as the permission to do it. Teamwork requires organisation and collaboration with each other according to this "take twenty - five" exercise. On the other side, this scenario can also create anxiety in the group as well about how you're going to work as a good team together how you're going to make the right decisions and how you're going to work in the community in various situations. The purpose of the study is to analyse inter personal skill for effective team work and develop personal and professional developmental plan for the benefits of the individual, so that the person can contribute positively to achieve future career goal.
As reported by this exercise in teamwork, I know that I have acquired some different abilities that I have not previously recognised, which are in the following Spider gram:
By getting involved into an activity you can get a lot of skills but the most important skill that you are getting Is the teamwork skill which is very helpful.Teamwork has five main areas that require team skills and can be built through ‘take twenty – five’ exercises, the five key areas being:
Setting target and monitoring of results.
Working together to solve problems.
Settlement of disputes.
The planning and coordination of tasks.
Communication – goals listening (Gallagher, 2010).
In fact, the teamwork philosophy focused on my own experience through the event we've just done, is how you collaborate with others, share their ideas with everyone, interact well, listen to others, and expand on suggestions from others, and work together as a team. In my view, teamwork includes retreats, intensity, and consideration for one another and compromises if it is necessary to work together and if it is necessary to continue the basis of strategy and planning. First of all, I've learned how to work with others and be more accountable for working in a team. Teamwork showed me how to concentrate, change my mind, learn from other members of the team and create a great working environment. This training has helped me to improve my social skills and to work closer with the members of my team and to build new relationships between us. Furthermore, because of the exchange of views during our meetings, the disagreements I was able to improve my English between as (as I am an international student). The key to the success of the team in managing the objectives better was collaborative support and how we used it to learn new ideas from each other(Avery, et al., 2001).In my team, all the group members are used to be lacking cohesion, seriousness and teamwork. Nonetheless, we are only the three of us employed as a group in the organisational workplace, where we are four people, and we have tried to work as vibrant and enormous as we can. They used to be the other member they were no longer willingness to work or to cooperate. Furthermore, we no longer had significant efficiency in our meetings because we were just three, rather than four. First, we’ve been the entire team unity (appendix 6.1), but one member received the twenty-five pounds after that from the university they didn't appear or work with the group again. That was no longer a problem because of the fact that we actually contribute / raise to the foundation, on the other hand, the money (twenty five pounds) was for the expenses of that exercise. Nevertheless, it is essential to mention that we work well except we were only two contributors. Hence, there is miscommunication and lack of cooperation in the team, where the member is not collaborative with each other. This further raise issues in meeting the team goal. Thus, there is lack of team working skill where the members fail to improve their skill of management, partnership working, communication, open discussion d cooperation and positive body language, emotional intelligence and inter personal skill.
In fact, people working in a team make them try to share the workload equally and consider each member's strengths and weaknesses. This made me turn out to be more successful because of the fact that my colleagues asked me for a lot of opinions. For example, if you're in a group and work with each other, the workload will be shared, and the task will be done without problems as well as when you're alone. We have built an exact relationship in our group that makes me feel extra positive as a result, allowing me concentrate to achieve the goal of the project. Based on the above, working together helps me to increase my shallowness and make me strive for my quality. In addition, creating and growing a clear friendship the contributors to the crew is the nice key to the fine teamwork. Through this mission, I have developed a solid relationship between the others, which makes me a higher communicator and person socializing.Generally, you create faith between the team when you join a group, essentially, you’re creating an environment extra convenient to help one another discuss all the issues in a better analysis. At the completion of the teamwork, building relationships with others is one of the most important elements to accomplish the crew's objective (McClay, 2009).
For this exercise, communication skills are of great importance because they enable people to determine their emotions, thoughts, expectations, and wishes of other people (Gallagher, 2010). In this case, communication abilities were extremely important to talk to each other in order to recognise and collaborate in order to achieve the purpose of the task. As we were just three of the team, for instance, we were all from different countries as a result of English not being our first language. As per the Belbin’s team development theory, communication and collaboration is necessary for developing effective team (Vukasinovic, Cok and Zavbi, 2017). The theory demonstrates that, the individual must be coordinator, shaper, investigator of the organisational resources, complete finisher, implementer, team worker where the skill of open communication and discussion, positive body language and cultural understanding are necessary for the person to develop own skill to work as a team (Pandey and Karve, 2017). That fact was once a problem in the beginning but later we all developed that ability because we two knew that we had every mistake in the sentences when we spoke, we appreciate each other, on the other hand, and that help us extra comfortable talking and trying to say what we want (Driskell et al., 2017). As mentioned, in some respects collaboration with my group was no longer very excellent, for example through this exercise we had different levels of knowledge, as somebody knows about bigger things for a concept and somebody else knew less. As a result, rebuilding each of us on our own ideas and working together is effective to help each other recognise the problem and the reality for the solution. In my group, complement each other this motivated us to achieve another friendly environment and to meet our target. Equality between us has made my team more open and, through our thoughts and arguments from all of us, it has ended up more suitable when we redefined concepts, feelings. Opinions and concluded that helps to develop our cooperation.
The model shows the activity/ exercise / experience cycle in the different phases, according to the Gibb's reflection cycle, that helps you think and solve the problem strongly, through your reflection structure (Brookes, 2017). As a result, the following cycle of Gibb illustrates how I react with my team in that exercise (take twenty-five) in those different phases (Markkanen et al., 2020).
As per the Gibb’s reflective model, there are proper steps through which it is possible to analyse own skill and develop suitable planning for personal and professional development in near future. The steps are such as description, feeling, evaluation, analysis, and conclusion and action plan. As per the description, there needs proper teamwork in order to work collaboratively, I was in the group of four members where I try to communicate with others. However, the other group members were not cooperative and they fail to discuss their feelings and experience with each other. This in turn deteriorates the quality of team working activities. As per my experience, it is necessary for me to improve my influential power and communicative skill so that I can discuss with others through group meeting and open discussion and influence others to share their skill in order to develop appropriate team work. I also need to develop my inter-personal and emotional intelligence skill to understand the perspective of other three members in the group so that I can collaborate with them and develop proper team work through partnership working practice.
To sum up, it is important to work together element that can enable me or anyone to improve a variety of abilities to lead and be part of the team. In this case and focus on the difficulties listen above, in order to achieve the objectives of the programmed, I have progressed in a very large excessive percentage of my abilities. The coordination showed me a whole host of new items, for example, we can achieve more goals together than individually. However, because the whole thing had to do with different people, the contrast between how we use our own talents to function for my part and how within a team are very limited. I also realised that my weak spot and strength points could be understood and how to improve in fact, they should be more careful and more severe. It offers me the prospect of building up my private characteristics and using it as an advantage for greater and better opportunities in the future, and it can also help me to show these capabilities in my next performance evaluation. Ultimately, for me, the exercise was once an excellent experience that I would like to replicate, but a more responsible member of the team with a butter team.
