In this essay, a discussion on career development and employability is focused on. In today's world, career development can be accelerated using tools and applying the techniques inside the workplace. This study aims to identify the use of career development tools and find out strategies to develop employment. A conclusion is also outlined in this essay for readers' understanding. A person is expected to try the best possible measures until success is achieved. Like they say, “opportunities do not happen, you create them”. In different countries, employment status is going down due to lack of skills in students and this situation needs to be handled. Hence, it becomes important to understand the roadmap to career development and the significance of employment in a person's life.

Career development and employability

Career development tools are identified as:

1. Personal Branding: This is a plan that enhances the career and reputation of a person from "relative obscurity to high visibility". Personal branding gives a detailed analysis of tools, tactics, and skills for developing a position.

2. Networking: Networking helps a person in the improvement of skill sets and staying updated with the latest trends of the industry (Bridgstock, 2019). Checking out what areas are looked around by employers helps in securing a job position.

3. Curriculum Vitae: This document is identified to be the life-changing one that shows accomplishments, interests, and work experiences together. It needs to be updated every time a person archives something.

4. Aptitude Testing: It identifies the natural strength of a person along with suitability for the job role. This assessment pattern helps in identifying skills that engage a person the most and improved traits such as values and interests.

Career development and employability denote the process of identifying the best-suited job for a person and applying sustainable strategies within it. Assessing the right direction of a career is associated with this context.

Success is not something that can be brought from the store and it is hard-earned. Career development means the process of managing a person's life, their work, and learning throughout an entire lifespan and it requires the use of appropriate tools (Bridgstock, Grant-Iramu, and McAlpine, 2019). Employability means a complete assessment of a person's achievements along with skills, ensuring that a qualified person gains employment in life. Now the tools found out here are expected to provide enough support to a person to gain success in their career.

Reflection

The workplace expects its employees to possess almost all skills related to their development. I find it important to use aptitude tests to gain more knowledge on the working domain. This helps in the development of positions inside the company. In my opinion, building a network with professionals gives adequate support for employees whenever needed. According to Coetzee (2018), if an employee wants to switch jobs, then this network might help them find the best suitable option. Such a network keeps the peers updated on new technology and trends along with building a compatible knowledge base.

Conclusion

This essay has highlighted different types of career development tools and their uses. It is identified that transferable skills are associated with employability for benefiting a community, an economy, or a workforce. Required actions should be taken to gain ultimate success in a career by using the tools mentioned. Career test results provide immense opportunities to proceed with desired roles. All four criteria such as aptitude testing, personal branding, networking, and CV are important to build an image of the candidate. Creating an opportunity for development is associated with candidates and they need to bring about their best through practicing aptitude. Creating connections with professionals increases networking whereas; personal branding gives a highlight of competencies possessed by the candidate. Moreover, CV summarizes candidates' qualities as human beings along with competency identification. Communication along with all these practices is expected to manage all possible ways of appropriate career development concepts.
