1. Geographic and political information of Brazil

Brazil extends from the Amazon basin in the west and north to the Highlands present in the southeast region and topography in the quite diverse in the area. The Amazon River basin present in Brazil is home to the widest rainforest where 52,000 square miles of the forest are found to be depleting annually. This basin covers more than 60% of the country and 80 inches rainfall in a single year. The Brazilian Highlands, as well as plateaus, are on an average less than 4000 feet. However, the highest point which is named Pico de Neblina in Brazil is 9888 feet. Brazil is seen to share most of its border with all the South American nations with exception for Chile and Ecuador. There are total of 26 states in Brazil and has a federal district. The capital of Brazil is Brasilia and the Amazonas has the largest area whereas the state named Sao Paulo has the highest population in the country (www.brazil.org.za, 2010). The political system present in Brazil is that of a Federal Presidential Representative Democratic Republic where the President is the head of the government as well as the state. There is multi-party system in Brazil. As in 2019, the Worker’s Part which is democratic socialist party in Brazil is the ruling political party of the nation. Jair Bolsonaro is the present President of Brazil in 2019 (www.brazil.org.za, 2010).

The present political scenario of Brazil informs that two of the former Presidents of Brazil who are Dilma Rousseff and Luiz are been involved for investigating scandal related to corruption in state-owned oil company (www.bbc.com, 2018). This informs that few of the most influential political leaders of Brazil were charged with fraud that is raising political crisis in the country. This is because the fraudulent cases are drawing conflict between parts and political leaders which is disrupting the peaceful political environment of the country.

2. Sectoral contribution to GDP

The Gross Development Product (GDP) of Brazil in 2017 was $2.056 trillion which made them rank 9th in the world. It is forecasted that the GDP is going to rise to $3.388 trillion in 2018 for Brazil (data.worldbank.org, 2018). This indicates that the economic state of the country is at a flourishing stage than many other countries over the world. The direct contribution of Tourism sector to the GDP of Brazil was seen to be BRL190.2 billion which is 2.9% of the total GDP in the year and it is expected to rise by 2.7% in 2018 and would lead to become 3% of the total GDP by 2028 (www.wttc.org, 2018). The Industrial sector of Brazil is seen to have contributed 28.5% to the country’s GDP in 2017. The industrial sectors of Brazil include automobile, steel, petrochemicals, aircraft, computers and others. The service sector contributed 76% to the GDP of the country and the agriculture sector contributed 5.5% to the country’s GDP (ww2.ibge.gov.br, 2017). This informs that the service sector is the key contributor to the GDP of Brazil which includes retail, banking, media communications and others. Later, the contribution to the GDP is followed by the industry sector and lastly by agriculture.
