After lightweight E-type and XKSS, the D-type became the third continuation vehicle from the company’s approach to continuing its iconic models of cars.

D-type

After 62 years, Jaguar Classic is restarting its production of D-type race-car. The iconic car was last built in 1956. The Jaguar Classic will assemble the car. Originally, the company had planned to build 100 D-types models but only 75 where completed. Therefore, it aims to complete the original ambition by building 25 cars. The car became an iconic after winning the Le Mans 24 hour race three time between 1955 and 1957. It was powered by six-cylinder XK engine.

The goals is rebuilding the car with same features and specifications, being authentic, as original model.

Continuation of Phonix From the Ashes: The XKSS

After 59 years, the company built nine destroyed XKSS by famous Browns lane factory fire, inn 12th February 1957. Originally, 16 car were completed but the company set to finish the production. The rebuild was hand-crafted fitting the specifications and authenticity of the 1957 original cars. XRSS was inspired by iconic D-type race car. 25 of the planned 100 D-type were remodelled to be street-legal roasters. Hence, birth of the racy XKSS with six engine.

Lightweight E-type

After 50 years from first built, the Jaguar Classic reintroduced the missing lightweight E-type cars in 2013. Initially planned to build 18 cars, only 12 were built in 1963 and six missing. Dubbed The Missing Six was seen as ‘ensuring justice was done’ to original planned work. The aim was to recreate and maintaining the exact features and authenticity of the original classic car (straight six engine). Driven to embody the ‘spirit of the originals’
