Bridging Passion and Purpose

During my A level studies, I thoroughly enjoyed physics and Mathematics. This motivated me to further my education with a course that combines these subjects hence ending up pursuing Bachelor's degree in civil engineering. Additionally, during my studies at A level, I had a considerable adoration of Tsung-Dao Lee and Changning Yang, who are great scholars who won Nobel Prize due to their work on parity no conservation of weak interaction. This motivated me to work hard with the aim of making the world a great place to live. Moreover, I came to realize that humanity is propelling towards an unrecognizable existence, which is a sign that human responsibility has leaped from the wheel. However, after completing my master’s studies, I realized that the world is being affected dramatically by climate change. This forced me to try to understand and discovered how clean energy could be produced globally to attain UN sustainable development goals, which advocate in clean energy. Besides, after reading widely, I came to realize that developing new eco-friendly products as well as diversifying renewable energy can play a significant role in the global warming challenge. This, therefore, created my interest in pursuing a course in both engineering and renewable energy, which will make me contribute significantly to global challenges. Today, led by my curiosity, objectives, and fascinations, I am applying for a Ph.D. in Energy and Innovation in your institution.

Ph.D. in Energy and Innovation is a course that involves the provision of secure, affordable, sustainable energy via the implementation and discovery of innovations and technology, which is a significant challenge in the 21st Century. Scholars suggest that more people than ever require energy and practical energy solutions; therefore, the need for this course globally is increasing. I consequently wish to join this course to develop the skills to organize, design and as well, manage highly innovative fundamental and applied research projects which would save the world from the current energy challenge. I know that this course is challenging; however, I believe that I am academically qualified to pursue this course. Looking at my prior education, I pursued a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the University of King Saud. From this course, I developed; mathematical skills, leadership skills, communication skills, problem solving skills, organizational skills, and decision-making skills, which I believe are critical to this field of study. Additionally, at King Saud University, I pursued MSc Engineering Leadership and Management where I designed a PC CRASH program to re-visualize traffic accidents as my project.

Additionally, I understand that this institution aims at selecting candidates who have an outstanding academic profile, with keen research interest and foundation, and a strong interest in developing a career in scientific research. Therefore, being a creative and innovative student, I have come up with a prospect research proposal on Energy Security Management, which makes me the most appropriate candidate for this course. In this project, I intend to create a better understanding of the weakness and strengths of the existing methodologies which are used in evaluating energy security. I also plan to estimate the crucial aspects which are neglected by the current methods. This project is an opportunity for further methodological innovation. With my objectives to produce sustainable energy and solve the challenge of global warming, I believe I am the most qualified candidate to study a Ph.D. in Energy and Innovation.

In addition to my high academic standard, I am professionally qualified to pursue this course. Currently, I am working at Hamoud Saleh Al-Jarba Consulting and Safety Engineering Office as Deputy Director-General. In this position, I am tasked with evaluating different departments to make sure that workers adhere to safety standards and ensure that the company complies with all safety and environmental programs. From this position, I have learned leadership skills and other critical skills. Also, I attended summer 2016 training at the Ministry of Transport, where I developed essential skills of energy security. Furthermore, I worked at Sudhir Municipality for eight weeks, where I was tasked with the supervision of the infrastructure project, where I gained critical interest in energy and innovation.

Looking at my traits, I am an enthusiastic, self-motivated, positive, and hardworking individual who strives to achieve the best. Also, my communication skills are excellent and perfect knowledge of how sustainable energy needs to be. Besides, I consider myself a flexible person with the core skills required to thrive in the modern energy production and innovation environment. Lastly, I am a proactive and versatile individual possessing a positive attitude toward studying. However, regardless of my qualifications, I understand that a Ph.D. in Energy and Innovation is demanding. However, I am fully committed to striving to achieve my best since I have chosen the institution that will assist me in being the best. Additionally, this institution equips students with theoretical tools and empirical evidence necessary for understanding energy and innovations. Nevertheless, your institution promotes multidisciplinary exploration, which makes me believe I have made the right choice of university. I am therefore optimistic that I will be prepared well for the modern job market.
