Client Server Network Design For Tma Training Centre?

INTRODUCTION

The aim of the project was to design a Client-server network for the TMA Training Centre. It consisted of teachers, students and members of the staff securely logging in and accessing the resources on the Server Computer.

The objective of this project was to design a demo environment to demonstrate that, the users in the Training Centre could securely access shared resources on the network and those resources could be centrally administered by a Server Computer.

During the project build phase, I have successfully completed the following tasks:

• Undertaking modifications to the project plan due to two elements specified in the project proposal document being not covered in the project.
• Deployment and Configuration of the Windows Server Standard (x64) on the Server Computer virtual machine.
• Installation and configuration of the all the required server's roles on the Server computer virtual machine along with installation and configuration of the AVG Internet Security Business Edition.
• Creation and Configuration of the Study files shared folder on the Server computer virtual machine.
• Network-based installation of the Windows 10 professional on the client computer virtual machine.
• Testing and optimising.

All the elements of the build were properly finalised and tested. The project was performed without using a live client. The TMA Training Centre is a hypothetical educational establishment, which was developed, based upon the real-world Training Centres.

The feedback received at the project open day event was very positive. All those individuals, that observed the project, could notice that, the project was created according to the technologies that most of the enterprises need and adopt.

The Project plan was effective, in which both the exploratory and descriptive research methodologies proved to function, considering that, it assisted in undertaking a comprehensive study concerning the technologies involved in the project.

The primary data was collected throughout the interviews, conducted with IT personnel in Bradford college to acquire an overall view of an IT Network Infrastructure in an Educational Establishment. The only issue was that, I did not formally document the questions in the form of a questionnaire.

The secondary data was obtained from diverse existing resources, which included study notes from the course materials, IT certification books, vendor's website and online resources.

The building methodology equally proved to aide in concluding the project. Considering the concept of the project, I have utilised a simple and functional approach of dividing the project into six steps, which are planning, designing, building, testing optimising and evaluating. I have also used the waterfall project management methodology during the build, the only concern was that I did not compare it with another methodology.

In general, I could not encounter the issues in my project build, due to in-depth investigation and study, the network system was properly implemented as well as the server computer virtual machine was correctly configured and the users in the training centre could successfully access the shared resources on the network, by using the client computer virtual machine, where all the devices on the network functioned properly.

In the effectiveness of the project plan and methodology, I have pointed out two elements that I should include in the project, which are formally creating a questionnaire including all the questions, and answers provided by the some of the IT Staff members in Bradford College, and also comparing the waterfall project management methodology with another methodology. In addition, there is also another element, which I should include during the development of the project, which is the implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Undoubtedly, the complexity of the project and the time factor influenced is not incorporating these elements in the project, but in order to improve the project, I would definitely add these elements.

Also, to improve the project, I would perform a zero-touch deployment of the Windows 10 Professional (x64) on the Network and automate some of the tasks on the Server computer virtual machine.

As previously stated, the Project was designed based upon IT Solutions regarded as core components for any sort of enterprise which are server computers that provide services to a client computer on a Network, and the ability of Client computers request services from Servers Computer.

Microsoft's Server and Clint Operating systems were selected for the project as a result of being broadly implemented in firms, IT Scholars Developing Knowledge on technologies widely utilised can translate in more Job Opportunities.

Certainly, this work compares with that in industry and the expertise obtained during the development of the project that are essential to possess according to the research. It can be noticed that, the configuration tasks, performed in the project, are the actual work performed by deployment engineers and systems administrators, when dealing with Microsoft-based operating Systems.

If more time were allocated to the project, I would definitely implement the same IT infrastructure in the cloud. The methodologies applied in the project were suitable for this type of project, considering that the methodologies, I have analysed, required detailed information about the company to where the IT system will be implemented. For instance, The Microsoft Operations Framework (MOF) methodology, which is used when dealing with the deployment of Microsoft operating systems, was the best methodology for the project, but it required detailed information of the organisation and it is performed by a large group of IT Professionals.
