The article proposes to make concept analysis of coercion in mental and psychiatrist health nursing with the help of Rodgers’ evolutionary method. The article argues that coercion in mental health nursing creates negative consequences for the patients as well as nurses which also hinders the development of therapeutic relationship in care. The articles also argue that presence of coercion in care leads to increased trauma and injury of the patients in mental and psychiatrist health as the nurses are intended to provide forced care to the patients who show lack of compliance and involve in making violent actions at times. The study demonstrates the need of executing extensive future research regarding coercion in nursing care to develop better understanding of the dynamics of power that is driving it and the ethical condition that are raised due to the coercion presence in nursing care.
