Developing Employability Skills

Introduction

Personal branding is mainly the conscious and intentional effort for creating own profile and influencing the public perception of an individual by positioning them as an authority in their industry (Filipov, 2020). It focuses on elevating their credibility and differentiating themselves from the competition, in order to ultimately advance their career, increase their circle of contact and get the best job opportunities (Chen, 2021). The aim of the study is to develop personal branding in order to create personal statement and evaluate the employability skill set for getting the best job in the market. Through this study, it would be possible for me to develop effective statement, represent my skill set and abilities in order to get suitable job as per my personal and professional skill. Hence, personal branding is important for me to develop own profile in order to apply for new job and get the opportunity to achieve success in personal and professional career.

Personal brand statement

A personal brand statement is important in personal branding where it is mainly 1-3 sentences that explain what an individual do and why they are unique in the specific field (Tourky, Foroudi and Al-Zadjali, 2021). It sums up the overall experience, existing set of skills, and own passion so that the people can easily understand who they are and what they offer in the job market (Johnson, 2017). Personal brand statement is important for networking, job searching facilities and overall career development that provides a lot of benefits to get the best job as per their abilities. For searching jobs online and off-line, it is essential for the participant to develop the best personal brand statement with catchy words in order to attract the HR recruiters of the renowned corporations, for applying in the organisation (Kolodeznikova, Neustroeva and Timofeeva, 2021). A strong personal brand statement can open up the doors to speaking engagement, job interviews, further promotions, enhancing client relationships, and also overall business success (Thompson-Whiteside, Turnbull and Howe-Walsh, 2018). It is hereby essential to develop personal brand statement in systematic steps such as listing my attributes, choosing the audiences, being honest, making it memorable, be flexible and be concise so that I would be able to represent my own field of interest and provide clear overview about my personal and professional knowledge and skill set.

The major features of personal brand statement are employer target, workplace definition, benefit for me, the support point, so that I can link the organisational activities with my skill and abilities for achieving future business goal. The personal brand statement must be short with the summary of what I can do, how to do the job, and what makes me unique in the workplace. The five Ps for developing personal brand statement are personal, pointed, purposeful, prioritising and profitable. The person must include all the necessity information, personal knowledge and abilities to develop structured statement for personal branding. It is important to provide promise about own contribution on the organisation and represent own employability skill in order to attract more recruiters in different organisations. In this context, I try to develop clear understanding before representing my skill set and personal abilities in the company. By arranging my employability skill and my personal efficacy, I would like to develop personal brand statement so that it would be possible to create good social networking, as well as access job interviews and participate in organisational examinations for getting the best job opportunity as per my academic background and personal employability skill set. Hence, apart from the academic knowledge and degree, I try to focus on my employability skill set so that I can convey messages about personal and professional knowledge and skill to perform better and meet the job responsibilities.

Reflections on my Personal Brand

Personal branding statement is important for me to evaluate my own roles and responsibilities and represent a structured form in front of the recruiters in the job market. It provides me a scope to identify my own strengths and explore my abilities in performing in the organisation as per the job roles and responsibilities. It is essential for me to develop personal brand statement so that I can apply for different job position in the job market as per my own academic degree and employability skill set. I would like to represent my academic performance in my CV, as well as professional skill set is also important to be represented in the paper. For developing personal brand statement, I would like to consider different employability skill and abilities as well as my past working experience, in order to convey the messages to the recruiters about my capabilities and skill set in working in the renowned organisations. In the recent competitive job market, it provides me a scope to consider the academic and professional skill in my CV and develop good personal brand statement for attracting the recruiters. I aim at getting good job position in the multinational corporations, which will provide me good employment opportunities in near future. In order to develop good personal statement, I would like to represent my academic career, employability skill, past working experience as well as personal hobbies in order to provide an overview of myself to the recruiters, so that they can judge my abilities to work with others in the workplace.

The major employability skills that I would like to represent are such as communication, team working, problem solving, initiative time management, decision making practice and planned and organised. In order to develop my personal brand statement, it is essential to review the process and be flexible in sharing all the essential information related to the personal and professional career. I mainly focus on my academic knowledge in order to represent my academic achievements, projects that I have completed as well as seminars that I have attended. All the academic performances are clearly stated in the CV, and it is represented through the structured personal brand statement (Commaille, 2017). It also provides me a scope to change my personal statement in order to reshape the statement by inclusion of employability skills to show my abilities in the organisations. Here, I aim at discussing about my problem solving and decision making skill set which are crucial employability skills in the organisations. In order to get the best job, I try to highlight my knowledge and personal skill to critically evaluate the problems in the firm and utilise adverse data and information for developing the creative solutions to achieve the brand objectives. In addition to this, the time management skill and being organised are also represented in personal statement to show personal abilities to meet job responsibilities within the allocated time period in the firm (Waller, 2020). I always try to meet the deadline of the task in the organisations by organising the tasks and developing suitable planning to utilise the organisational resources for meeting the company goal. Hence, the personal brand statement with inclusion of the employability skill set provides me an opportunity to develop good statement and apply for good job position in the multinational corporations.

My Personal Brand

My personal brand statement is, Keen to have a challenging and performance oriented career by being flexible, organised and planned with an organisation of distinction, teaming my potential and expertise providing the scope for professional growth across growing and developing Industry. I would like to serve the best care to the customers, who are the major stakeholders of the organisation. I would like to utilise my personal knowledge and employability skill set in order to meet my job responsibilities and provide the best services to all the customers of the company in order to achieve the future organisational goal. Here, in order to develop my personal brand statement, I am efficient to represent my employability skill set where I mainly focus on time management, decision making practice and being organised, so that I can work with other in the workplace and achieve the organisational aim through strategic planning. The new personal brand statement is hereby beneficial for me to include employability skill and represent my abilities through the statement. I would like to get the scope of working in the organisational management team and contribute efficiently by developing creative decision for the renowned companies in order to secure my professional career in near future.

Conclusions

The personal and professional sill and abilities must be represented in the personal brand statement so that I can get the opportunity to apply for job in renowned organisations. As the job market is highly competitive, good personal brand statement provides me an opportunity to represent my academic knowledge and employability skill through personal statement in order to access different job interview in the market and participate in the organisational recruitment process. The personal statement is hereby beneficial to get good job opportunity in near future and secure my professional career, where would like to utilise my employability skill such as decision making skill, communication, team working and organising skill set to work others and contribute in the organisation proficiently to meet the ultimate objectives of the firm.
