Masters personal statement

The source of any aspiration is tagged to key foundations that a person holds. Personally, I have a ground foundation in law from pursuing it at the City University. I have great curiosity about what is right and what is wrong. In such perspective my aim to explore duties as a diplomat and having the role of bringing positive change into the world is unmatched. Personally, being raised by a single mother, taught me the importance of having a curious mind, which is explorative and never taking things the way, they appear but digging deeper beneath the surface to get to the core of the reality behind it. From the onset, I got the intrinsic motivation to pursue law as my undergraduate course. In the recent past serving as a call operative for covid-19 responses taught me the virtues of being cooperative and collaborating in all tasks. I enjoy having my intellectual capacity challenged, in such ways, my judgment and analytical skills have greatly improved. Similarly, studying international law, European law helped in exploring how the law works between sovereign states and the critical link between religion, politics, and economics.

For nine years I attended Italia Conti School of performing arts where I trained in dance and drama. During that time, I learned the importance of self-discipline and how to articulate myself with great confidence and versatility. Training at such a prestigious performing arts school instilled in me the importance of hard work and the need to set goals. Additionally, as I noted I have been active in working for the NHS as a call handler for the COVID-19.

I possess a sense of social obligation having taken the responsibility in organizing fundraising events for a charity organization called Scope. Working with the charity has been a moving experience as their vision is to raise awareness of the discrimination that people with disabilities face. It gave me an insight on how the disabled see the world and the difficulties they face. I have a great belief that if we capitalize on the power of law, we may attempt to instill justice and equality to all, evoking change and social improvement for many people. These people maybe the ones with whom today are prospectively viewed as outcasts. Being confident and self-motivated makes me strong enough to handle the murky waters of the global diplomatic scenes. Having worked with people from different cultures and that possess different ideologies and background makes me to be accommodative and able to make critical decisions pertaining humanity.

Conclusively, the Master’s program will give me more depth into the world of law and also the opportunity to discover politics and history. Similarly, it shall provide me the scope to expand on my existing experience and opportunities to develop expertise in new and exciting areas. As a fluent French speaker, I believe that my social skills would be of help to the University community.
