Real Estate And Property Management

Having grown up surrounded by businesses, I have witnessed the benefits in the industry, and this has fuelled my interest in real estate. During my teenage years, I had an impression that property only consisted of buying and selling, but how wrong I was. Currently, I have come to understand that real estate is a multi-disciplinary framework that explores a vibrant range of sectors including; economics, surveying, and legal principles. This diversity and changing nature of today’s-built environment has become fascinating to me thus my interest to study real estate and explore all these sectors.

Frankly, my relationship with property has surpassed and I have become obsessed with property investment. Recently, I read ‘Buy Low Rent High', a book by Samuel Leeds and I came to discover new investment strategies. I also attended Mr. Leeds two-day investment course, where I networked with experts in the industry, and since then, real estate has become a part of my life. Of late, I have discovered that I have been listening to property podcasts and news daily. Travelling also compliments my passion for property and I have constructed my way through several cities, which I have always wanted to visit, such as; Vienna, Rome, and Hamburg. My last visit this year was Hamburg, and I was transfixed by the huge contrast of old and new infrastructure, as the aesthetics of property has always piqued my curiosity. I hope to widen my horizons and now I can’t wait to visit more destinations.

I have always replicated the core competencies of a chartered surveyor; either obtaining the role of Project Director in a charitable enterprise project or earning the role of Head of Customer Service in a commercial cleaning service. Whichever the task, my aptitude has always reflected an entrepreneurial character. Throughout my life, I have naturally inherited leadership role ranging from Children's sports coach to being the manager of my own property. Additionally, I was given the role of being the captain of my school as well as the local football team, and recently I led my school team to wining a senior boy's football tournament. As a leader, I have learned how to motivate my team, and via extending my development plans through the football management, we won a league -Chester, North-west league.

Combining Business and Political studies have enlightened me on the economics of real estate. By reviewing private property from the 19th century while studying political ideologies illustrated the importance of real estate to the UK economy in its past and present form. working in an industry that contributes to the UK economy is a great pleasure and gives me an incomparable sense of pride. During my studies, I have also learned to be a financial analyst and how to conduct investment appraisals during business projects. I enjoy roaming properties on Rightmove, performing calculations such as return on investment, and preparing for future investment opportunities.

During my time with Property Pac Ltd, I discovered new dimensions in property. My technical ability transcended and I was motivated to learn risks involved in real estate while establishing reports and quotations. To have continuous professional development, I decided to undergo a PRINCE2 introductory course to promote my understanding of project management. My ability to manage a project along the life cycle was demonstrated when I organized and planned a renovation project for a client, using the knowledge that I acquired from the course. The knowledge guided me to control the project from planning to closure and this illustrates my capacity to control myself. I am looking forward to proceeding my business education exploring property planning and development.

Despite the challenges involved, I am intrinsically motivated by the diligence to succeed in real estate as it provides unique advantages. My strong track record of determination and dedication will give me a competitive advantage while learning hence achieving my vision of becoming a qualified RICS member.
