The Force Field Analysis

Performance and quality assurance are necessary for every project as they lead to customer satisfaction. The main aim of ensuring performance and quality assurance in a project is to ensure that the project is able to meet the original requirements. Considering the dementia village, the project can be measured by two processes. The first one is the formative evaluation, which is designed to improve the process through which the program is being implemented (Singh et al. 2012). In dementia village, this will be important in determining the best way to continue with the building projects. The second one is the summative evaluation which is formulated in a way to judge a program, a strategy and cost-effectiveness of the program. In dementia village program, this can be implemented by analysing the landscapes and the tenders offered by the different contractors.

There are several tools that can be used to measure the performance and quality of a project. One of the tools is Force Field Analysis (FFA) which is a technique for analysing different ideas by discerning the benefits and the disadvantages of the project. Another positive technique is the Nominal Group Technique (NGT) which is effective in ranking ideas and brainstorming ion the best approach to the project hence assuring quality. Notably, NGT operates on the assumption that everyone in the project has agreed to work as a team and then collects anonymous insights from the group members (Neyestani 2017). It is then possible to determine the items that should be prioritized depending on the popularity of that choice. Another technique of measuring the quality of the project is by cost-benefit analysis (Gresoi and Diaconu 2013). This tool seeks to analyse the trade-offs of providing quality products in the project. Lastly, the quality of the project can be determined by the Cost of Quality (COQ) which is a tool that is determined to ensure that the costs are in line with the required quality of the project and in case they are not, it is possible to find a right balance.

It is important to ensure performance and quality assurance on the project because the result may show the policy and planning results that may confirm the use of a required policy and also address the gaps that are identified. Given that the building will be fostering elderly dementia patients, and given that they suffer from memory loss, it is important to ensure that they are well protected. Additionally, quality assurance will be important in making decisions about funding as it will be possible to understand what works well and what do not in the project (Vrîncuţ 2014). This guidance will also be used in future programs. Additionally, through performance and quality assurance it will be possible for the project team to clarify goals by ensuring that everyone in the team understands the main aim of the project, which is to ensure that the dementia patients have a quality life and that the environment is favourable for the community. It will also be possible to ensure tracking of the project hence enabling the team to make any adjustments that might be needed along the way. Lastly, by having performance and quality assurance it will ensure accountability in the team hence creating a room for improvement and perpetual development.

In the dementia village project, the project managers should implement performance management by keeping contact will all people on the ground. This includes the contractors and how they came up with their tenders. Their plan for the building the risks involved and steps are taken to navigate the risks (Todhunter 2013). The project managers should also ask for weekly reports on the development of the projects as they will help them monitor the progress and in case something is amiss they will be able to effectively correct it within a given timeline.
