Aspiring Career in Procurement and Supply Chain Management

Businesses must maintain a steady supply of products in today's globalized globe to stay afloat in today's highly competitive marketplace. Manufacturing is becoming increasingly concentrated in a few regions of the world, and suppliers are enjoying monopolistic arrangements, making Supply Chain Management more critical than it has ever been. As a result of these facts, I decided to pursue a career in business rather than science in high school. Because of the increasing concentration of product manufacture in a few global regions and the monopolistic frameworks possessed by several suppliers, I also understood how critical supply chain management and logistics has become. Contract manufacturing in places like China intrigues me as a potential career path. I would like to work in the purchasing department. I hope to understand better how a supply chain works and how to make strategic adjustments to remain competitive by attending your university. This course will also provide me with a thorough understanding of effectively managing a complicated supply chain in today's dynamic corporate environment. Therefore, guided by my fascination and objectives, I am applying for a Bachelor’s degree in Procurement and supply chain management at your institution.

An undergraduate degree in procurement and supply chain management prepares students for careers in the private and public sectors, respectively, by providing them with knowledge and abilities in these fields. However, it requires competent and most qualified individuals due to its demand. However, I believe that I am academically and professionally qualified to study this field of study at your institution. Currently, I am studying a two years HND Procurement and supply chain management at Glasgow City College. After taking this course, I have gained a thorough understanding of supply chain management's strategic and operational aspects. The generic procurement process and the role of corporate and transactional procurement have also helped me develop a better grasp of the principles of good public procurement. In addition, I have learned how to develop a sourcing process that is suited to the value and risk of the product or service being procured. Besides, I studied short courses including Maths, Physics, and English at Aberdeen University. From these studies, I gained extensive knowledge in maths and English, including communication skills which I believe will be useful in Procurement and supply chain management.

Professionally, I am currently working as a Logistics Coordinator at Hydrofroce Ltd. in this position; I'm in charge of raising proforma invoices, arranging courier delivery, arranging air & sea freight delivery, and preparing all necessary export documentation while ensuring compliance with local and international regulations, including liaising with the chamber of commerce and other related bodies. From this position, I have gained critical skills in procurement and logistics. Besides, I have improved my communication skills and necessary thinking skills, which makes me confident that I am fully qualified to study procurement and logistics at your institution. Besides, I worked as French Speaking Customer Service (Export) at Flint Group UK. From this position, I am responsible for establishing and keeping good working relationships with customers so that I may meet their demands and requirements. In addition, I precisely and effectively process customer orders while liaising with Banks and with Freight Forwarders. I have gained comprehensive knowledge in supply management from this position, and I have advanced my time management and critical thinking skills. Other positions I have held include Bonded Clerk at Kuehne + Nagel Limited (Michael Page), Air Freight Logistics Operator at Alpha LSG (Birmingham Airport), and Load Planner at Swiss port Birmingham.

Aside from a solid academic and professional basis, I have improved my communication skills, organizational and management skills, and other talents that I believe will help me study more effectively. In terms of my abilities, I am a goal-oriented, upbeat, and proactive person who can function in a fast-paced atmosphere while still achieving deadlines. Furthermore, I have a strong command of information technology and am a versatile guy with the necessary abilities to succeed in today's procurement profession. Aside from my abilities, my educational history has molded me into a professional and punctual person who can provide results on time.

However, I understand that this course is challenging, though I am committed to striving to achieve my best since I have chosen the institution that will assist me in being the best. I am therefore optimistic that I will be prepared well for the modern job market.
