Advantage of Technology

One of the most crucial matters in the reinventing of humanity in the last century has been technology. Technology is created by humans to make their life more comfortable and solve most challenging issues facing humanity (Barasa et al., 2016). Similarly, technology has changed how we purchase products, travel, and learn, among other daily activities. The Collins English Dictionary defines Technology as ‘'Knowledge and Skills available to any human Society''. Technology plays an essential role in our lives and is found in all spheres of life. This paper discusses the advantages of technology to humankind.

To start with, Power Technology is one of the evolving technology and this includes; Solar energy and bioenergy where with the help of technology the sun's power is used to produce electricity using photovoltaic cells in Solar energy. In Bioenergy, technology is involved in converting burning biomass, organic material to energy. Some of the notable development with assistance in technology includes water supply, oil refineries, nuclear power, and fuel cells among others. Technology has created ways to generate energy with less production of greenhouse gases, which has tremendously reduced pollution unlike the traditional use of coal and petroleum products. Nevertheless, technology has diversified energy production and supply, making human life better (Šmihula, 2011). For instance, with the current increased amount of energy, the health sector has improved, the transport sector has improved and today, the level of poverty is decreasing; thanks to technology.

Another sector where the technology is playing an unlimited role is the Transport sector. For instance, electric and hybrid cars, speed cameras, submarines, jet engines and rockets, drones, space probes, airplanes, sailboats are just a few examples where technology is used. With technology, transportation has become faster and more convenient. For instance, a distance that used to take ages during early trade is now taking a few hours, and this has greatly influenced international trade as well as internal trade. Earlier, countries like China consisted of Chinese, Japan, Japanese, but today, history has changed. The evolution of transport technology has eased movement of people; therefore, the world witnessing mass immigration, creating peace and unity in the world.

Another benefit of technology is found in every house. Things like heating, refrigeration, security alarms, and the digital homes are some of technological advancement in our days. Another technique that seems to rewrite human history is the self-healing concrete which has helped resolve the issue of cracks saving people millions of dollars yearly. Additionally, the use of house heaters has advanced human lifestyle compared to the early life of using charcoal and fireplace for heating rooms.

When it comes to computers there are a lot of technological advancement that is witnessed nowadays. For instance, computer software, digital word l, digital electronics, artificial intelligence, virtual reality among others have been developed for interest of humanity. Additionally, Artificial intelligence is a technology that enables computers to do and thinks like humans. Today there are many challenging human issues such as research and working in a hazardous environment. Technology has saved humans the risk associated with a dangerous environment like the nuclear plants where robots utilizing artificial intelligence have replaced humans

It is important to consider the fact that technology has advanced the mode of communications. Here there are countless technologies such as radio signals, telephones, telecommunication networks, television broadcasting, satellite navigation, Wi-F among others. Technology has generally enhanced the accessibility of communication without consideration of distance where one can communicate all over the world in a matter of seconds. Additionally, communication is cost effective compared to early days where the postal address was being used to send information from place to another.

Technology impact farming and food productions as well as harvesting. Technology has assisted in feeding humankind. For instance, with biotechnology, high yielding crops and animals have been produced, unlike the indigenous crops which have a low yield. With technology, modern machines have been developed which assist in large scale farming, thus technology is beneficial to humankind.

In medical technology, digital innovations have been in the frontline in improving human health. In this sector, technology interacts to improve how health services are offered to patients. Pacemakers are one of the innovations which hold regular heart activity. X-ray imagining is used to detect fractures or tumours. MRI scanner is used in the detailed imaging of the internal structure of the body. Keyhole surgery performing an operation in tiny incisions. Flexible endoscopy and robot-assisted surgery is another technology in medicine (Jarusriboonchai, 2016). In general, medical technology has evolved from introducing doctors to new equipment to the connection of patients with doctors thousands of miles away via telecommunication, which is an excellent advancement in the medical sector. Today patients hold a video conference with physicians, which saves them money and time.

Additionally, with the digitalization of the health records, treatment has improved tremendously. Prosthetic limbs are a device to perform simple or sophisticate limbs that act together with the nervous system. This means that amputations are no longer challenges to humankind. With technology, one can enjoy walking without anyone realizing the disability; isn't this rewriting human history?

Nevertheless, technological advancement has made the world a convenient and greater place to live. Technological tools such as internet, computers mobile devices among other have been used in promoting independent learning of students. Unlike the traditional use of textbooks and libraries, today education has been made easy since most educational materials are available on the internet, which means that students can learn at their own time and pace. Additionally, technology in education allows teachers and tutors to create exciting ways of teaching students. For instance, instead of using graphics, teachers today utilize graphics, videos, mobile games, and tutorials which enhance student understanding. Creation of this exciting learning environment creates interest in education.

To conclude, technology has beyond doubt, eased the life of human being. It has proven to be one of the greatest booms the development of culture and society. Regardless of these benefits, technology should be used with caution and only for the purpose that benefits humanity.
